As one of their yearly world trips, Roy and Josephine visited Africa. Knowing how much Josephine craved to see the animals in their natural habitat, Roy booked them a stay at the renowned 'Tree Tops Resort' in Kenya. There, through the wide open windows, they experienced the animals roaming around and getting closer to them than at any traditional zoo or exotic park. Josephine took copious photographs and sketched away in her many sketchbooks (now a private collection). Josephine described that during her on-site painting, monkeys would come and steal her brushes. Their portraits were acquired for a private collection.
